It was built in 1742 on the site of a wooden Uniate church. The stone church had a traditional baroque double-towed facade, traditional for the Uniate churches of that time, and the interior with four massive pillars and a short wide middle nave brought it closer to the architecture of the traditional Orthodox church. In 1839 the church became Orthodox, and in 1852 underwent reorganization. Two baroque towers of the temple were dismantled, instead of them two "Russian" domes were built.
At the end of the 19th century, a stone fence was built around the temple. A brick entrance belfry was built.
