Korenevka is a small village located in 7 km away from Gomel. The main attraction of the village is a hunting lodge of Count Paskevich, an architectural monument of the second half of the 19th century.
In 1834 Korenevka became the property of Field Marshal I. Paskevich. Initially white and red house of brick was built here, it was used as a distillery, but in the 60s of the 19th century Count Paskevich turned it into an estate. A beautiful park was around the house, and a beautiful artificial lake was in front of the house.
Thiis place was famous for a large number of wild animals, and hunting was prevalent here, one of the main entertainments of that time. Therefore Paskevich estate soon became known as the Hunting lodge of Count Paskevich.
Hunting Lodge of Count Paskevich in Korenevka is perfectly preserved. State Forestry Institution "Experimental Forestry Institute of Korenevka" is located in the former Hunting lodge of Count Paskevich today.
