The Memorial Complex is dedicated to the children victims of the Great Patriotic War, it was opened on June 28, 2007 in the village Krasny Bereg. The monument is located in an apple garden of the village, there was one of the largest children's concentration camp. This memorial is dedicated to the childhood stolen by war.
The Great Patriotic War did not spare the children. "Krasny Bereg" is a memorial complex located on the place where children's concentration camp once was. The Nazis forcibly took away the children from their mothers in different areas of Gomel region. They were then sent for blood sampling for wounded German officers, and then they were deported to hard labor in the German province.
The architect Leonid Levin, the winner of the Lenin Prize designed this monument. Construction began in 1994 and ended only in 2006. There is a sculptured girl standing alone in the middle of the square. She represents all the dead children of this land.
The center of the composition is the "Sun Square". In the center of the square the apple garden was planted, alleys diverge in different directions from this garden. They represent the rays of the sun.
However, the main entrance to the square is goes through a Black Ray of Memory, on which the dead classroom with the blackboard is located. Last letter to the father of 15-year-girl going to death is written on the blackboard. On the reverse side of the blackboard there is a map showing the locations of other concentration camps on the territory of Belarus. At the "Sun Square" there are stained-glass windows with children's drawings which we made concentration camps. In the center of the square is a childhood dream, White sailboat. The memorial is full of dramatic elements.
