The Church of St. Nicholas - a monument of Belarusian architecture of XVI-XVII centuries, located in the urban village of Mir. According to some sources, funds for the construction of the temple was allocated by duke Nicholas Radziwill Sirotka - a statesman and military figure of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Approximately at 1605, the Church of St. Nicholas in Mir opened doors for parishioners.
The temple is located in the central square of a small Belarusian village on the site of the wooden church, built in 1587. After almost a century the building was renovated, and in 1865 adapted into a church.
The Church of St. Nicholas is three-nave basilica from stone with three towers. Under the apse of the church is a crypt with 30 graves.
During the uprising of 1863 rebels gathered in this church. This largely determined the fate of the Catholic church. After the defeat of the uprising turned it was turned into the Orthodox church. During World War II the church was closed. After nearly half a century the building became the current Catholic church.
