Historical and Cultural Complex «Stalin Line» - one of the most grandiose fortification ensembles in Belarus. Stalin Line - is a chain of fortifications along the border of the USSR from the Isthmus to the shores of the Black Sea. Built line of defense from 1928 until the fall of 1939 this system of fortifications became known informally as ”Stalin Line”, by analogy with the ”Maginot Line”, ”Line Monnergeym”, etc. It consisted of 23 fortified areas that included more than 4,000 long-gun emplacements (pillboxes).
