Starye Dorogi Historical and Ethnographic Museum was founded in 1999. It is located in the town Starye Dorogi, Minsk region in the Palace of Culture building. It includes exposition and exhibition halls, storage facility, offices.

In the exposition hall guests can see the canvases of Honored Artist of the BSSR I. Stasevich, the works of famous Belarusian graphic artists and artists of medal art A. Kashkurevich, Ya. Tihanovich, S. Gerus, S. Garbunov, wooden sculptures of master I. Lizuro.

At the memorial fund there are documents, photographs and personal belongings of participants of the Great Patriotic War and the war in Afghanistan, writers, scientists and artists. In the exposition hall there are materials on the history of the development of enterprises, schools and cultural institutions of the district.

In the exhibition hall of the museum thematic removable exhibitions on the basis of collections of artists, photographers, various organizations and institutions are organized. In addition to traditional forms such as excursions and presentations, the museum is implementing a variety of creative projects: workshops, lectures, thematic museum lessons, events, meetings.

The museum funds comprise more than 3175 exhibits, and so far the staff does not stop to collect new objects for 16 collections: paintings, drawings, sculpture, numismatics, notaphily, ethnography, weaving and garments, embroidery, straw works, photographs , books, documents, pennants and flags, gifts.

In 2011 Historical and Ethnographic Museum received a grant from the Minsk regional executive committee "In support of significant projects in the field of culture and arts" to create a permanent exhibition dedicated to the "History of the roads and the post service". The exhibition is in three halls, the premises of post, smithy and tavern were recreated.

According to the authors concept in the first hall postmaster greets visitors of the museum. Some of the exhibits for the museum exposition of this section the museum received from the district post office. Among them stamps, postcards, envelopes, different postmarks. Archival documents and photographs of the history of the construction of the most important objects of the XIX century - the Moscow-Warsaw highway and Libau-Romny Railway are placed in the vitrines. The post station is located in the second and third rooms. It is known that earlier post stations were engaged not only in the shipment of correspondence, but also they were the places where travelers could rest. In the station it was possible to shoe a horse, to have dinner and spend the night. In the forge there is a furnace, bellows, anvil, forge tongs, large and small hammers, a collection of horseshoes and hand-forged items, repaired chaise. At the end of the tour guests can visit the tavern and taste traditional local dishes. All interior elements were made in style of that times.
