The Mogilev Regional Art Museum of P. Maslenikov was founded on November 19, 1990. The museum is placed in the building of the architectural monument of the early 20th century, which combines the features of art modern, pseudo-Russian and late classicism architectural styles (the architect is A.V. Druker). In 1994 Pavel Maslenikov donated 125 works of painting and theater decorative art to the city of Mogilev. This gift became the basis of the Regional Art Museum. The museum funds were enriched considerably: on 1 January 2012 the museum included 3, 975 items. In 2002 a memorial hall dedicated to the creative activities of Vladimir Letun was opened there.
The exposition "Preserved Heritage presents original material and spiritual culture of previous generations, owing to which the Belarusian art acquired such concepts as "Mogilev School of Architecture", "Mogilev Carving", "Mogilev Book Graphics", "Mogilev Fresco and Icon", "Mogilyov School of Ceramics". Since December 5, 2008 a memorial and artistic hall dedicated to the creative works of K.N. Gedda has been functioning. The exposition "Art of Mogilev Region of the 20th Century" makes a retrospective review of arts and includes 200 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative art and handicrafts.
The most important aspect of the activity of the Mogilev Regional Art Museum are contacts with the near and far abroad on the basis of the exhibition activities and the annual International en plein air on the "Image of Motherland in Arts" dedicated to famous painters of the Mogilev region.
